Hierarchy of Control..

The hierarchy of control is the structure to which all control scheme development and implementation should be guided by. Neglecting this approach will, in most cases, lead to sub-optimal control. Yes, the control has the potential to improve the performance of the process under control, if some levels in the hierarchy are overlooked however the capability of the control systems to which the regulatory and advanced regulatory control can not be used to the advantage it was intended. Speeds of feedback loops and execution periods are comprised by the nature of the ‘system’ implementation. If an embedded controller can achieve the task, why is it not doing the job?
